High Definition
Norfilms only offers High Definition Freesat receivers to give you the best of present and future entertainment.
HD packs in up to 5 times as much picture detail as standard definition TV, so you get crystal clear images and fantastic colours.
Current Brands & Recommended
There are only four Freesat receivers on the market at present from Norfilms. Of these three (Bush, Goodmans, Grundig) come from the same manufacturer (Alba) and have little to differentiate one from another. The alternative option, and the current Norfilms's Recommended product, is the HUMAX receiver.
Humax has received favourable reports in a number of reviews for its reliability and performance over the early Alba models and is likely to remain in lead position for the foreseeable future.
NOTE: The Humax receiver is the only one that comes with its own HDMI cable, necessary to connect HD receiver and TV set, otherwise you will have to obtain one of these separately from a local supplier or your chosen installation engineer.
HUMAX

Norfilms Recommended Product: Includes HDMI cable for HD connectivity.
About
the Humax FOXSAT-HD Digital Receiver
The
Humax Freesat HD Digital Box (FOXSAT-HD) was the first HD receiver
launched for the new Freesat satellite service, on 6th May 2008.
Offering excellent quality picture and sound on both HD and SD
broadcasts, plus a much improved EPG and menu system over its
competition; the Humax HD Box almost instantly became a firm
favourite with enthusiasts and general consumers alike. In addition,
the Humax receiver offers the ‘add channel’ facility,
which allows you to add further FTA channels which are not available
via the EPG/TV Guide, plus the option to search for channels
from other satellites, with the correct satellite dish setup
of course.
BUSH
About the Bush BFSAT01HD Digital Receiver
The
Bush BFSAT01HD High Definition freesat Digital Box was released
shortly after Freesat’s launch on 6th May 2008. Whilst
off to a slow start due to software recalls, the Bush is selling
well as the low-end receiver, significantly cheaper than its
rival freesat receivers. The Bush BFSAT01HD brings you good quality
SD and HD picture, and offers the LNB in and out to allow you
to piggy-back another digital box without the need for another
cable from the satellite dish. The Bush HD also includes the
ability to add FTA (free-to-air) channels not currently available
on the Freesat EPG as default.
GOODMANS
About the Goodmans GFSAT200HD Digital Receiver
The
Goodmans GFSAT200HD High Definition freesat Digital Box was released
shortly after Freesat’s launch on 6-May-08.
Whilst suffering the same as the other Alba Group models (Bush & Grundig)
due to software recalls, the Goodmans has proven itself as a
solid mid-range Freesat Digital Box, with its closest competition
being both the Grundig and Humax. The Goodmans GFSAT200HD brings
you good quality picture in both SD and HD, and offers a LNB
in/out connection allowing you to piggyback another digital box
without the need for another cable from the satellite dish (although
a separate cable from the satellite is highly recommended). The
EPG (electronic programme guide) is basic but simple to use.
Please note that this Goodmans Freesat HD Receiver is now able
to add free to air channels not listed in the Freesat EPG; this
was not available from launch.
GRUNDIG
About the Grundig GUFSAT01HD Digital Receiver
The
Grundig GUFSAT01HD High Definition freesat Digital Box was released
shortly after Freesat’s launch on 6th May 2008.
Whilst off to a slow start due to software recalls, the Grundig
has taken position to compete with the Humax FOXSAT in the high
end HD price range. The Grundig GUFSATHD brings you good quality
SD and HD picture, and offers the LNB in and out to allow you
to piggy-back another digital box without the need for another
cable from the satellite dish. The EPG is basic but easy to use
and the ability to add FTA channels not available on the Freesat
EPG is now available.
