What are your Script Guidelines?
In brief the key features Norfilms would look for, if there is a development
budget for it are:-
- Highly commercial projects, not "arts" films.
- Norfilms aim is worldwide popular entertainment, with a strong "feelgood" ending.
- Norfilms DO NOT do social realism, misery, defeat, English socialist paranoia conspiracy stories (we leave all that up to Channel 4 and the BBC).
- Budgets will always be tight, if you have a big budget spectacular then that would be put through another company once it's ready to launch; otherwise please be prepared for help with or requesting a leaner rewrite (did Alfred Hitchcock need spectacular effects for some of his scariest scenes?)
- Norfilms is all about: tightly written, thrilling, exciting, entertaining stories that can be produced on a minimal budget and quickly enough for rapid commercial turnaround.
- No wild helicopter, road, other chases - no budget for it.
- You CAN write and produce some exceptional films on low budgets (the shower scene in Psycho didn't need any big spectacular effects).
- It's not "grim up North", so Norfilms don't produce those either.
Can I submit my Script To You?
Not yet, Norfilms don't have a separate script editoral department and cannot
look at other's work at present, but if you think you have a really good
idea then review the guidelines and send a brief note.

I'm interested in working with you in the future, can I submit a CV?
Certainly, but Norfilms cannot guarantee any work, and may not even have time
for a response at times (work, work, busy, busy, chop, chop, bang, bang!);
but DO NOT submit a CV by email unless you've contacted beforehand
(unsolicited email attachments as they could have viruses
attached).

I can't see the drop-down menus on any page, what's happened to them?
Most likely you are using the Microsoft Internet Explorer version 7. Internet Explorer has severe disadvantages to anyone reading the web and does not render web sites accurately according to international design standards.
The current version of the Norfilms web site has been designed to conform closely to web standards, but this means it conflicts with the non-compliant Microsoft Internet Explorer browser.
As a better alternative to Internet Explorer you are strongly advised to install a more modern and compliant browser such as Firefox, which you can download from here: www.mozilla.com.
Norfilms may find a way to work around this problem, but in the meantime, and to improve your web browsing experience, you will find other, far better browsers.

Why does the site look different in diferent web browsers?
There is no standard form of internt design code, different browsers interpret the code for a site in their own ways, especially Internet Explorer, which has a very non-standard interpretation.
The site has been laid out mainly for CSS compliant browsers and should look correct in Firefox, Mozilla, Netscape, but look eccentric in Internet Explorer.
It will need more redesign to make it conform to the different browser interpretations, but meanwhile, on with the film-making....

Why does the logo foat around the back?
The big Norfilms logo is just there for decoration if you have a wide screen and your browser window fills it. If you have a smaller screen it will just slide neatly out of sight behind the page display.
Don't worry, it's not a fault in the code (best viewed in Firefox).
