How It Works - Development Financing

• Every feature film has two stages: development and production.
• Each stage requires finance. This unique scheme is concerned with Development Financing.
• Part of that finance covers the normal overhead of any business, whether or not a production is in development.
• Development funding is normally returned when a production is given the go-ahead.
• Development funding normally earns an interest/profit of 50-100% of the investment, depending on how long the process takes.
• When you commission a commercial/corporate video/event from Norfilms you will be helping cover the normal overhead.
• This proportion, from 10 to 50% of the budget, will be treated as part of the development budget for future films.
• When a film is commissioned this development funding will be classed as part of the film's budget and refunded to each client upon the first day of principal photography - PLUS PROFIT.

Example

Your Commission: £3,000	A commercial/video is commissioned - a commercial, an event, etc.
Overhead element (max.50%): £1,500	Upto half the budget of the video is the normal business overhead.
Development Investment: £1,500	The overhead part of the commission is treated as part of the development fund.
Development Recoupment (upto 200%)	When a feature film or major TV series is commissioned for production you receive your development funding and profit on the day filming begins. You are NOT WAITING for release of the film.
Earning: £3,000	You will earn your Development Investment plus upto a 100% profit.

Basic Terms of Service

1. Each client become an investor/backer and receives a binding share in the Norfilms development fund scheme.
2. The scheme is set for all films in development for the duration of the scheme.
3. The scheme only expires when all "investors" have recouped their commissions.
4. The amount of recoupment depends on the amount of overhead offset into the scheme.
5. The offset can be as much as 50% of a commission for smaller projects and no less than 10% for larger projects.
6. Recoupment from the scheme comes on a first-come, first served basis.
7. Recoupment is typically 50-100% profit on the successful acquisition of production finance.
8. Recoupment occurs on the first day of principal photography for a feature film.
9. Participation in the scheme is only available to clients who complete a commercial commission and payment thereof. If at any time a client rejects the work or cancels the commission before completion this will not be considered eligible for the scheme.
10. These and any subsequent terms are subject to change without notice, such changes will not effect any statutory rights you have under UK law.
