Project 1:  Hermes Space Courier Ship

Just an attempt to create an outline for the Hermes Pegasus Class Courier ship.

Dateline: Wednesday 14th, August, 2013.

A very simple draft sketch for the Hermes to explore the practical aspects of the final story and setting.  Unlike most film/TV sets the ship has to be big enough for the drama, but a practical scale to build/model in the real world.

A lot of the action revolves around this Jumbo Jet-sized and claustrophobic hull, crashed, isolated and damaged, with the hold isolated from the accommodation (no, there are no ducts big enough for aliens to scamper around).  But someone has to go down there and see if the wild animals have escaped their cages, or others entered through the cracked hull.

Note of realism.  Most future technology and such hulls would be made of stronger materials than all modern aircraft. This won't be shattering, but the fragile human elements will be damaged.

In the design and operational concept think more of a very very large general purpose utility helicopter.
